交代背景
Recently a massive pharmaceutical scandal has hit the front page of every Chinese social media.
One of the country’s largest vaccine pharmaceutical company, CHANGSHENG, had been manufacturing defective vaccines for children, including Rabies and DPT vaccine.
DPT vaccines is listed in the national recommended immunization schedule for children aged 0 to 18 years old.
The outrage swept Chinese social media as Chinese government called for an immediate investigation into the sales of faulty vaccines. There is no doubt that such incident has severely damaged the reputation of domestic pharmaceutical industry, it has also well crossed a moral line. Of course, the manufacturer should receive serious legal punishment.
个人感想与情绪
The moment I heard about this news I felt my stomach was pulled down by someone. Fury and anger quickly filled up my mind.
How can a drug company be so irresponsible and greedy!? Imagine the 250,000 innocent children been injected with such defective vaccines and their parents had no idea what physical damage would the vaccine have caused to their children and potential consequences caused by vaccine failure. I would never forgive the company if my child had been given such vaccines.
An even scarier thought just came to my mind: what if this company is not the only one making those substandard vaccines? What if this is like a back-door deal well known in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry? How would we still be able to trust medication made in China? Who should we really blame for such scandals?
个人建议
I believe the government should definitely make a move and solve this issue by setting up stricter legislation and regulations to punish the offenders and send out a well-drawn picture to all pharmaceutical manufactures that if you dare break the law, you will receive the most severe punishment.
